Foster Support System

Mentors

Never feel like you are doing it alone. Every foster parent is assigned a mentor. Each mentor has been with CAT for at least a year and will be able to guide you through the fostering process. They will also be there to contact the medical team in the event of an emergency.

Group Support

We have an e-mail group where you may post questions, share stories and pictures, and receive updates from the Foster Coordinator. You will also receive requests on this group for homes needed. It is a great way to share and feel a part of the program.

Vaccine Clinics

Our cats and kittens are vaccinated before they return to the shelter for their health and well-being. We offer clinics to show our foster parents how to safely administer shots when needed. This is not mandatory for fostering. A trained volunteer can meet with you to administer the shots at a convenient time.

Adopt-a-thons

To help you find homes for your fosterlings, we offer outreach programs at sites where you can take your kittens on the weekends. We also use Petfinder to display their pictures and biographies. This helps them find their forever homes, and saves them from spending extra time at the shelter.
