On August 5 and 6, CAT staff and volunteers gave CAT’s main adoption room a face lift. After 10 years of service, the old cat cages needed replacing.
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who assisted with this installation. And a special thank you to all of you, who were very patient while we closed the shelter for the two-day installation.

The Cat Adoption Team was recently named one of the top adoption shelters and one of the top rescue shelters in the Portland area by the readers of Portland’s Spot Magazine.

CAT received over 140 feline photos in its first Cute Cat Photo Contest.
The judges considered photo composition, quality, focus, and overall beauty of the cat to choose the top Cute Cat photo. The winner will appear as the cover of the 2009 CAT Calendar, on sale this Fall.

Hundreds attended, thousands of dollars raised, and the top fundraising team was a Cat Adoption Team kitty. Congratulations to Team Moda Lozzy, raising $3,000 in the 2008 Pets in the Pearl online fundraising challenge. Everyone enjoyed the great weather, shopping, winning terrific raffle prizes, and meeting Portland mascots Blaze, Tom-a-Hawk, Jaxon, and Victor.

The Cat Adoption Team wants to thank all the ‘cat-testants’ who showed up at the Meow Mix ‘Think Like a Cat’ game show auditions. There were 183 cats who competed for a chance to win their owners $1 million at the upcoming ‘Think Like a Cat’ game show, which will air on the Game Show Network in November.
One lucky cat-human team from Portland will get their chance and we’ll find out who that is in just a few short weeks. If Portland’s team wins, CAT could receive up to $100,000! Read more about it.
